DOH!!!!! just re-read my last post to see why you weren't sure about the card (soooooooo amny typo's Note to self dont type in forums till I've had 2 cups of coffee) any way its a radeon X850 series pretty new style card works great for cod2, swg, BF2, and mech4 those are the ones I play most and in that order too. I prefer fps games but will pass most up if they dont have any on-line play.

yeah but i like modded version is VERY useful when your sniping :-X and yeah the online commuity is HUGE!
IT'S OUT!!!! The conversion is finaly out and its a FREE DOWNLOAD!!! But be ready to be there a while, the d-load is 878MB plus they already have a patch out (due to first release bugs). here is a link to the web page if your intereasted.

Very cool thanks I have yet to reinstall 2142. I had Punk Buster issues the first time, for some reason punk buster isnt compatable with itself in the other games I play (COD2 COD1 and BF2). might be a bit before you see me on-line with this one but when I decide to play it it wont take long as I have the conversion and patch already D-loaded.

ooo punkbuster issue eh? you should up date your punk buster, for some reason punk buster doesn't update its self any more so you have to do it by your self :'(

There are 2 files you need to make sure are running. PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB. These are the important service programs. If either of them are not working you may not be able to play. I would recommend running the updates, first the run the service check. This should fix your problem. PS First Strikes makes your lag crazy!

I tried everything Hobovu I even started a ticket with PB and they couldnt give me an answer they just kept saying try this and let us know what happens and each time it was pretty much the same thing. So I got to thinking and realized that the only thing I had changed was I installed 2142 (while trying to fix the pb issuse I had un-installed) so I restored my system to just before I installed 2142 origanaly and BINGO!!! all fixed. I gotta snipe so COD2 stays and 2142 has to wait.

Well this is just an update......
Since the advent of the new game COD4 Punk Buster has been forced to update their program to work with it. Hence the progam has been updated. On the off chance the issue I had was fixed I re-installed BF2142 then started up COD2 and held my breath...... IT WORKS!!!!!!! So I now have BF2142 installed and running, not very well mind you, but its running ( I think I need moree ram everything else should be fine). I'm affraid to run the conversion though has anybody else set it up or am I the first to consider it? |
