I read the announcement and my thought was: "This must be a joke. This is a whole new game!"
I scrolled down to the timestamp and yes, 11.04.2005 would explain much... But then again we have a different order of month and day here. In europe it would mean 11th of april instead of 4th of november....

But i still think it must be a joke.

Crafting is not mentioned with a single word. I am not sure if i will continue with swg if all these changes take place.

I was going to go into Test Center and see what these new changes are like this morning...but I was impatient lol.  Still need to finish the download for Test Center before I can see'em.

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, crusty, grease-covered, dirty, sweaty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, haircut-needing, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, underpaid, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do all day.

Crafting and merchant are being merged into 'Trader' with 4 subsections for artisan skills: armor/weapon, chef/tailor,architect/furniture and shipwright/droid...at least as I'm understanding it.  My take on this though is that we're gonna see a FLOOD of jedi coming up and very few traders...I mean, given a choice, with quests being encouraged....which would YOU pick?  :Smile

In the meantime, what about relocating to Corellia?
Beware my dark side......oh! Hi Dark.

I'm ready to move lol.

And that's my biggest worry is that everyone will just go Jedi, and the whole point of making it tough to begin with so as to limit the number of Jedi will be completely for naught.

I'm planning on staying BH, and being a role-play jedi as I have been for a while now, keep a set of jedi clothes and bounty-hunter clothes, and hunt down whatever I can.... unfortunately rumor has it that there will be no more jedi hunting? but POSSIBLY mass-player hunting, as in you can hunt anybody Smile
Do not under estimate the power of the dark side!

If I want Quake, or a FPS style gameplay...I go play Quake or Jedi Knight 2.

If any of you haven't been able to try the NGE on test center, rest assured that the game is not quite a FPS yet... except for the fact that you have to keep your reticle on your target to hit it. Basically, instead of choosing an attack, and sitting back and watching the results, you must hold the mouse button down to continue attacking. Weapons fire WAY faster, which means combat will be quicker. Dunno if there are any plans for an auto attack like we have now....

I think the new interface is supposed to be easier to use, but during a fight it seems more complicated... right mouse button is for specials and item use, and you assign it on the fly by pressing the correct numeric key...( The toolbar uses 1-0 and -+ I think the F-Keys are no longer used?)

Anyhoo, if I hear correctly, they are also giving everyone 2 slots per galaxy.... If this is true, all those people who have been running 2 copies of the game and paying 2 subscriptions will probably be as irritated as many of the people who shelled out the dough for JTL. ( I always felt that was a little bit excessive anyway, especially the people who run 2 toons simultaneosly with 2 computers.)

I like the idea of having 2 toons, but it might make people like me even more anti-social because if I have a Trader alt, (which I plan to do >Big Grin) I won't have to bug Snoop or Core to make me stuff anymore. :-[

I'm a little concerned with the whole idea of getting rid of item decay... won't this completely screw the established commerce? Crafters RELY on the fact that things eventually need to be replaced..."I've got a bad feeling about this..."
