Just an Update, and an invite
#1
Good morning guys!

I joined this squadron WAAAAAAY back in middle school, seems like forever ago. Needless to say, you guys have seen me grow up. When I first joined, I was 15 years old, bright eyed and ready to take on the world. Now, I am 32, and life has caught up to me. I got married last year on Sept. 13 two days after Hurricane Irma sent two tornados through the wedding venue and flooded it under 12 feet of water from the rising St. Johns river. We had plans for members of Squad 7 of the Florida Garrison of the 501st to be there as an honor guard for the wedding. Star Wars themed of course! My wife was dressed as Leia from the award ceremony scene of A New Hope, and I as Han Solo. Everyone in attendance was in full Jedi garb save for my sister the Jawa and my mother-in-law in the funerary dress of Padme Amidala. (She had no idea it was the burial dress, lol!) Even though the venue was destroyed and over 40 guests could not make it including my best man (who had a screen accurate Chewie costume but was flooded in), we pulled off the wedding my wife had always dreamed of.

Despite dreams (delusions) of grandeur in my youth, I found myself working as a maintenance technician in a warehouse. A bit mundane, but someone has to keep a mile of conveyor running, not to mention the whole myriad of other problems the warehouse has. It's decent pay and the benefits are great, and it keeps my wife and I comfortable.

My wife, Lauren, is an AVID SW gamer. Her favorites being KOTOR and the original Battlefront II. She decorates our home with Star Wars everything, and I love it.

As for gaming, these days my Xbone is monopolized by her. On PC I'm mostly on World of Warplanes and Overwatch. Oh, I FINALLY found my left-handed joystick after almost 2 decades of searching! Turns out that, by custom order, Thrustmaster will make a couple of their designs in left-handed configuration. The same cannot be said for their throttle assemblies though, but I've learned to use my TWCS backwards with my right hand just fine.

I know we have a squad setup on World of Warplanes, but I never see any of you online. Shoot me a message some time, I'll be happy to be your wingmate! Tier 1 - Tier 7 right now, as I just got my P-51H.

I haven't forgotten you guys!

It's best to watch a furball collapse, analyzing the movements of the enemy. Watch how they maneuver, when they fire, how they break. Visualize your own attacks against those observations, then go in for the kill. Sometimes, though, you don't get that advantage. It's at these times where you go in guns blazing, but keep your head on a swivel.

Hi Goku!

I think Azis is still pretty active on WoP.
You might consider installing and joining our discord, several on there now.

Sounds like you had a heck of a wedding!
Rebel parts... Imperial parts... All Made on Tatooine!!!

We did, though it was a last-minute scramble, lol. The photographer forgot her camera and her assistants so we have n video of the wedding, but she did run home and get her camera. She was late, so the whole thing got pushed back about an hour. We wound up having the wedding in the park in our apartment complex, due to our venue having ripped up trees and being under 12' of water. It went off well, then we rushed to the airport after a 5 minute reception. We had our honeymoon in Gatlinburg, TN, which was wonderful and neither of us wanted to come home.

I'll check into the Discord! Hopefully I'll see you guys on WoP!

Good to see you Goku, and congrats...(May the force be with you in that endeavor)

I still keep up with WoWp but they really have issues. Some serious ones with the latest event. I have more than enough planes (56) to accommodate any wingie from TII -TX. Mostly fly Brit low altitude TnB stuff MR and Heavies. Higher tier GA's and no desire to try the bombers. The new lines of Jap heavies and the Brit Hawker MR line are pretty good. I have LF too that will run well with and include the Mustang but I am a better crop duster than I am an astronaut Wink
It seems to be a lot more strategy now if you are concerned about winrate, but I just jump in for the aerial combat mostly so I still get some fun out of it.

Flights are now limited to two but can still rule a battle pretty easy if work well together.

Will be on in the late afternoon evenings this week likely seeing about getting some candy canes.
Ancient weapons n hokie religions kid.......every lil bit helps!
