Inactive cities can be a pain to run(I SHOULD know....lol...remember RBL City on Gorath?), esp. with the current rules in effect. For those that aren't aware, citizens that are inactive for 90 days are now removed from the city(this was how our city on Gorath died). The mayor can protect a small percentage from this fate, but not enough to save the city from failure due to inactivity...a min. # of 10(I think) active citizens are required just to keep the city alive. You need to have a level 3 city(15 citizens min.) to have it listed on the map and be able set a city specialization.

The catch then with taking over a prexisting city? It's current citizenship will likely NOT know you or owe you any loyality. Running for mayor in it(btw, you NEED to be a citizen of the city in order to run) means you have an uphill battle on your hands, if they are friends of it's current mayor and vote for him/her.  Assuming apathy and an easy win, you'll likely LOSE alot of the old membership shortly afterward...either by defection or simply running out the 90 days.(I seen both happen with some of my OWN toons on different servers in the various cities they were part of). You'll need to recruit your OWN membership for the city, which in the long term, is prob. gonna be MORE work than simply founding a new city of your own.  One point to bare in mind though, if you become mayor....the city treasury vanishes when the city hall dies(as did 4 mil in RBL Cities teasury on Gorath), the maor is only allowed to remove a small portion every few days, so DON'T invest alot of your own personal credits in it, if you don't want to chance losing them(OR someone else gaining the mayor's position and trasury control). I have one toon over on Flurry that just left a dying city it was a citizen of that has over 88 mil in it's treasury...and goes 'poof' this week.

I could mention other things too, but I think you get the idea....lol. I'd hate to lose you as a citizen of RBL's Roost, but I certainly understand the desire.

As a cid of RBL Roost, you will only lose (a name not to be mentionted) and gain Levroum. So your pop remains the same.

Many of the things you mention I have thought about and only sever to farther push my ambitions. I am the type to say "ok its you two (or three) vs me, lets do this" cuz if I dont win its a minor loss and a shallow victory for them, But when I win its major victory and major loss for them. All hail my StarCraft playing days for that...

As for starting a new city...guess I will have to pick a spot on each planet. Then wait for a city slot to open up. So starting now I am takeing WP's for nice spots on each of the planets. Looking for flat or slight slop upwards to a hill top. Feel free to leave me a WP and I will look it up.

Also going to need to start rallying people (RL friends) to help get the city started. Going to need names for it too...Should I get one of each city hall?

Yeah, if you want to be prepared for ANY of the planets opening up a position...on Starsider, you'll have to move FAST when/if an opportunity develops..there's ALOT of competition for limited spaces....having a city hall of each of the 3 types wouldn't be a bad idea.
