Still wouldn't work. Even the Katana fleet (of the Old Republic) made up of Dreadnaughts still needed a 1,000 to 2,000 crewmen each. And they didn't have droids, they each had central computers, much like Star Trek ships do. It was when they vanished that the trend towards droids became fully standard.
A SSD requires nearly 1 million crewmembers! Even if you had central computer cores, you'd still need more crew than a single starfighter wing can provide.

Then what the heck am I gonne do with the SSD ReBeL???!!! Scrap it for weapons and parts for RBL Home???
It's best to watch a furball collapse, analyzing the movements of the enemy. Watch how they maneuver, when they fire, how they break. Visualize your own attacks against those observations, then go in for the kill. Sometimes, though, you don't get that advantage. It's at these times where you go in guns blazing, but keep your head on a swivel.

Ha! I had Bilbringi strip all the weapons off of it, They're enroute here now with a team of engineers to instal them wherever.
Once all the weapons were gone, i had all the empty turbolaser bateries and ion cannon bateries filled with potatoes and the turbolaser cannons and ion cannons turnedinto potatoe cannons!!!
then, without knowing of these "modifications", a TFA bought it off me for more than i paid for it!! I made, excluding what i paid for it and refab stuf, 50 million creds. who wants some rooties kegs??
