Hey ya Sweets........Well if your this far a simple joystick prob wont keep ya out. Should be able to go to the website of your joy manuf and get any latest drivers. What kinda stick ya got? Is it USB? First thing to check tho would be go to Mycomputer/control panel/game devices and see if its listed there. If it is listed there then see if you can test or Cal it. If not listed then it is most likely not usb and ya may have to get drivers b4 stupid Windows will find it. Ya may be able to force feed windows into finding it but not likely if not in the list already. If it is a common stick ya might try to add from the same place and see if yours is in the list Win 98 has.
If all else fails and ya cant get ahold of old blue well give me a call, you know I am insomniac also ;D
Well hope to chat at ya soon.
Ancient weapons n hokie religions kid.......every lil bit helps!

i use a Saitek ST200 . 4 buttons, throttle and smooth action. it accomodates left or right handed, and uses USB. i haven't had anyy problems with it. Of course, if you're right handed, you might want the sweeeeeeeeeet Saitek ST4000 that has a righthanded joy and a left handed throttle that looks exactly (besides color) like the controlls of the F/A-18E-f Super Hornet.
It's best to watch a furball collapse, analyzing the movements of the enemy. Watch how they maneuver, when they fire, how they break. Visualize your own attacks against those observations, then go in for the kill. Sometimes, though, you don't get that advantage. It's at these times where you go in guns blazing, but keep your head on a swivel.

NOW my prob is as before I can not stay in the dragnabbit zone for more than a min. MAC needs to come home and fix my puter. Ya all write your congress and tell them this!!Smile LOL

Thanx for all your help my next move is paying someone to start all over. Sad
