so I've been beta testing SWTOR. I like it.  Any other RBL'ers get beta invites? There is a stress test beta weekend this weekend for anyone who had signed up for beta prior to November...

first things first no I'm not in the beta.  ☼§☼

this game has me torn.  I like bioware rpgs'.  I like star wars.  this looks like a very promising game, but I do not like mmo's.  am in the camp that would have been much happier seeing kotor 3 than this, but this is what we have.  right now I'm not planning to get this.  if I would happen to fall into some cash and be able to afford the monthly fee I might consider joining in.

I hear yea man, I'm no stranger to tight finances.

On the game itself, it plays to me like an RPG with a great story, except with lots of people hanging around you and the option to interact with them.

They've done a good job with both solo and group elements on whichever you might prefer. Each class has a different story too. I played a trooper on an early beta and a smuggler on the last weekend one. Both had pretty immersive stories, I did not want to play too far so as not to ruin them for live heheh

If you prefer a good storyline and playing your story solo with an option to chat with friends you wont be disappointed there.

Grouping and PvP is just as good if thats your cup of tea, although admittedly I did not have a chance to test those out as much.

What I dont like is how they have done the space combat. It's on a rail system, very arcade like. It's still somewhat enjoyable but I'd prefer an actual space sim like XvT or what was in SWG. Rumor has it they might be doing something like this in the future.

I feel as though I should say that I ended up getting the game for free (As in the disc and such) due to a friend winning an extra copy of it at a launch event he went to. So far not to bad but feels like WoW with Star Wars to me.
Powered up, Blasters ready, lets do this!
