Well actually I think the instructors do let us without sayin anything 
... the limit I think is what were "told" and on paper for insurance reasons on the flight school... for example the FBO wont let them land on turf either... although rumor is they do on the hush hush heheh
My last couple times up the metars said 10kts... and I swear I had a 30kt perpendicular gust and updraft 200 feet from the runway fence (coming off buildings I think)... because it sure took ALOT of aileron to hold that side down... it was happening every time we crossed the fence (was doing touch and goes), but instructor didn't say hey lets stop winds are too much.... so pretty sure it's one of those legal things with the FBO.
heheh we dont have any trees at my field... but it is on a slope... the south end is 50 foot shallow than the north, and it's a curved slope. You lose sight of the end of the runway when you get about 40 feet off the deck. So those southern approaches are screwy no matter the wind direction... it disappears sometimes when you get down far enough, other times it's swirling off the hangars... makes it interesting. The north end is pretty easy though I'm anxious what trees will be like lol
I aint never seen a Mustang up close, only messed with em on the sims... but I can imagine the torque heheh They sometimes are at the annual KC airshow.
There used to be an old L-39 Albatros warbird on my home field, the guy would give training in it... but that plane got destroyed in a crash while filming a movie a year or so back. It was pretty cool watching him takeoff.
Acrobatics you say? Heck yeah, I can't wait to get my cert and move on to more complex. Heck just being able to fly down and see my folks without the instructor will be a happy day ;D
