Heh, I'd almost guarantee those were domesticated 'wild' turkeys.  Probably some local farmer trying to restock the local population.  We used to have farmers round where I grew up doing the same thing with pheasants.  Problem is, they seldom survive the winter cause they never learned HOW to, being raised in a barn.
