i use a Saitek ST200 . 4 buttons, throttle and smooth action. it accomodates left or right handed, and uses USB. i haven't had anyy problems with it. Of course, if you're right handed, you might want the sweeeeeeeeeet Saitek ST4000 that has a righthanded joy and a left handed throttle that looks exactly (besides color) like the controlls of the F/A-18E-f Super Hornet.
It's best to watch a furball collapse, analyzing the movements of the enemy. Watch how they maneuver, when they fire, how they break. Visualize your own attacks against those observations, then go in for the kill. Sometimes, though, you don't get that advantage. It's at these times where you go in guns blazing, but keep your head on a swivel.
