Welp. methinks I've finally figured out what my problem's been with me computer. Everytime I reinstalled/reformated/ etc., it wasn't a virus or worm that was causing all the freeze ups and subsequent errors/conflicts/etc.....it was HEAT!!! :o :
:'( The blooming comp was overheating!! I'd never have thunk it, although the rest of the family always commented on how warm my room was.....it should have clued me in earlier. I opened up the side casing tonight and put one of the house fans about a foot away from her and cranked it tonight 
and it's running fine.....NOT A GLITCH!! At this point I STILL have 12 min of updates yet to go for Galaxies and it's quite late so I won't be around much tonight, but the bulk of the reinstall/downloading is done, so I should be around Friday night or over the weekend.
