I find what usually works best is to venture right to the door edge, call up a swoop(hopefully NOT getting incapacitated b4 it materializes) and then hopping on and zooming away as quickly as possible. Same applies if incapacitated elewhere, you get a few seconds at the end of an incapacitation to react B4 something attacks you again. So as long as the swoops close, hop on and GO! (unless it's a REALLY powerful hit, you usually get 2 chances to do ths b4 having to clone.)
Going INTO a house or other structure, if I'm in combat mode and haven't taken 2 incapacitations already, I'll usually stand and FIGHT at the entrance. Yeah, I get incapacitated, but when I stand up, I use those few seconds to go inside, where I.m then safe.
It's a pain, but at least I'm NOT stuck with being unable to exit or enter a place.
I tend to recommend a swoop, because it's fast enough to get past most enemies b4 they can react to your presence. At worst, they'll kick you into combat mode(usually) and you can outrun them. Mind you, it doesn't ALWAYS work. I tried it with a Krayt dragon once and the sucker KEPT UP TO ME ON THE SWOOP!!! Took me AND my swoop out in 1 swat! :o :o :

Well what do ya do when the vermin is in ur doorway :o and them wanna be Cap'n Cavemen are campin under my front stoop :'( A baby huron incaps me for 48 secs heheh then (smokeem if ya gotem 8)) during which time all I got to think about is gettin another 12M to my stoop to then face the momma at my door....
Sure hope they have an Asomoya Marathon someday....I think I got nuff XP for that
