Errrr, Aslan, while I was curious too what the city hall looked like, setting it up that far away caught me by surprise.  You DO realize YOU are the only citizen listed for that city?  :Smile Wink ;D We need 9 others besides yourself to register as citizens WITHIN 24 hrs of setting up the hall based on your notes on this thread.  Apparently, the hall is too far away for our current houses to register for citizenship.  DOH!!!  :'( Why do I have a feeling I'm gonna have to gather more materials for another hall?  :'( :'( :'( :'(  Ah well, everything is in place to build them now, and with my new extractors, I shouldn't have to BUY raw materials from outside RBL at least.
BTW, if anyone wants some FANCY furniture, check with me ingame.  They require SPECIFIC mineral types that I don't (for the most part) have in stock currently(I'm working on that).

:'(  Your feelings  served you well  sorry to say !!! Grrrrr!! The City hall BTW looked real good and it was hard to find a place to put it cuase it said that assomoya was too close to where our buildings our right now. However where Cores house is  there was room for the hall  but it tricked me cuase it said I had a 750m radiaus to include our city which was well within the reach of RBL. l Placed the hall but than it wouldnt let me and lil yub include our house soo I was stuck to watch alll your hard work die on the vine sorry to say!!! So we may have to rethink our current location or our guilde and houses but than if we move I am not sure what will happen with the current population at RBL like defiremed who quit mau who is MIA and others!! That corner where Core is may work but it may not be large enough to handle a city ............We need to do more research and I guess I learned a hard lesson at the cost of the first CH.............OOOOOOOH MUMBLEMUMBLE >Sad

Ok I went to school on city building 101 and this is what I found:
Notes:

With this ability the politician can create a new city by placing a City Hall. A new city MUST have 10 citizens (including the Mayor) within 24 hours of creation in order to be approved by the Planetary Civic Authority.

In order to create a player city, you must first place a city hall. There are 3 city halls types (Tatooine, Naboo, Corellia). Examining a deed will tell you what planets it can be placed on. You must be a novice politician to place a hall. Upon entering and exiting the city the message "you have entered " will appear. The class rank of the city will appear in parenthesis next to the name. Architects craft buildings and the politicians place them.

When a city hall is placed, you have 24 hours to get 10 citizens in your city. The owner of the city hall counts towards that total automatically. A citizen is an individual who owns a declared residence within the borders of the city. To become a citizen, place a house in the city and select "make residence" from the city management terminal.

The mayor will receive email whenever a new citizen or structure is added to the city. Other players will receive email when their structures are added or they are named citizens.

If the city doesn't have 10 citizens in 24 hours, the city hall will be destroyed WITHOUT REIMBURSEMENT and the mayor will receive a message saying their zoning permits were rejected.

A city region is defined as a circle centered on the city hall. Initially the city radius is small, but as citizens join the city the radius will increase and new city abilities will be unlocked. A city cannot be placed such that its max possible radius might overlap with another city.

Here is the current list of city ranks and their associated required citizen counts and radiuses. (Note: the radius is listed, not the diameter):

    RANK

    RADIUS

  POPULATION

    Outpost

    150

  10

  Village

  200

  20

    Township

    300

    35

  City

    400

    55

  Metropolis

    450

    85

Ok  So Snoopy this is what we need to do make 10 naboo houses and we will get 10 people to take them to the spot where we think we want to start our city. Computer's back yard may work but I am not sure. Remember we have to have room for the CH and have the houses in a Outpost proximity 150m. Sooo for now thats what may work.......**End of Transmission**

WITHOUT REIMBURSEMENT?!???? :o :o :o :o :o  ARRRRRRGHHHHH!!!!!!!! :'( :'( :'(  Seriously though, I'd already saw that 1 coming(heh, I'm glad I developed a decent steady income business before I started this whole city hall crafting thing) and half expected it wasn't gonna work the 1st try.  I've got a decent start on stocking up on houses(there's a bunch in the vender), although most are small versions(the easiest to make with the fewest resources).  I've started building some medium sized versions as well, but ran out of materials temporarilly.(I since wised up and started making my OWN heavy duty mineral extractors - that will speed up this process tremendously) I'll keep you informed on my progress.(anyone interested in some of these extractors, let me know)
As for space, well, I tend to agree Aslan, I doubt we're gonna be able to establish a city at RBL's current location, it's just too crowded with too little free space.  Pity, it means I'll have to relocate my venders sooner or later.(no small job that)  I strongly recommend some scouting be done for a location for out next attempt.
Recruitment remains a priority too, methinks.  While a minimum of 10 citizens is a nice start, we'd be in trouble if someone left.  I like the idea of getting at least 15 because, based on your notes, we'd THEN be able to establish the Bar & Grill.  The cloning/hospital/garage/etc. would also be nice, but let's face it, RBL wouldn't be RBL without the Bar & Grill. Wink  Of course, if you read further on your notes Aslan, you MAY have to forgo OWNERSHIP of the Bar & Grill if we get to that point.  Only a MASTER ENTERTAINER or MASTER DANCER can establish and run a cantina. :'( :'(  *Get's a cute dancer's outfit for Aslan* I wonder if this will fit???    *RUNS*    ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I could probably become a Master Entertainer at some point, if I ever make the other professions complete lol.

And I really could use one or two of those heavy mineral extractors.  I'd go out into space and work on the roids, but I think that requires the Wookie pack.

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, crusty, grease-covered, dirty, sweaty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, haircut-needing, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, underpaid, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do all day.

*Wonders what Tank would look like in a cute TUTU*  **Pictures it**  ***GAGS!!***

Seriously though, I dropped my tower off this morning for a checkup(I was getting tired of reformatting every few days - my poor beast was REALLY acting up).  The good news was - no hardware problems found, to play it safe they even replaced my motherboard again) Bad news was....you guessed it - REFORMAT and reinstall EVERYTHING!!(their best guess was that it was a softwear problem).  :'( :'( :'( Good news though is that everything is reinstalling extremely well and quickly, so I expect to be back 'in game' tonight afteral.  :-X ;D ;D ;D ;D
I've got the parts already built that are needed for a supply of heavy duty extractors.  Once I get on, any RBL that want some can have a few, otherwise I'll add them to my deeds vender and you can get them there....course THEN you'll have to PAY for them Wink Wink ;D ;D >Big Grin >Big Grin
