Marine Combat Training
#1
Greetings all,

On Wednesday I got cleared by medical to leave Parris Island (Finally) for Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger. (or as all army 11B and Marine 0300 would call it--"POG school") Its attached to Camp Lejeune, NC. Its 21 training days (17 in the field). And wouldnt you know it...its the rainy season down here. I guess the old saying ("If it aint rainin' it aint trainin'") rings true. If you want details on what I'm doing, check the official site at:

http://www.lejeune.usmc.mil/soi/mct/index.htm

Yeah I know, it looks like a 10 year old kid made that site (hangs head in shame) but I guess web design isnt what the Corps is known best for. No offense Air Force... Tongue

With any luck I'll be able to post on here my mailing address sometime next week. I pick up on March the 3rd.

Ooorah.

Yea, they always say that if it isn't raining we ain't training...but I recall many a time where we shut down ranges because it was raining.

Course there was lightning involved....would have been a bad thing getting struck by one of those in the tank.

Tanker (tangk'er)n. 1. A dusty, crusty, grease-covered, dirty, sweaty, bright eyed, fuzzy faced, haircut-needing, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, underpaid, oversexed, little s%#* who can take a Tank and do more battlefield damage in ten minutes than a grunt squad can do all day.

Talk about getting toasty, would be a hellava way to dry out.  ;D  Welp, at least the training time is reasonably short, eh Vap?  I know...it will just SEEM like a year of hell.....worth it though.
Beware my dark side......oh! Hi Dark.
