New Star Wars Games Review

Alrighty research and development has been very busy lately with all the new products hitting the market at just about the same time. First off I would like to talk about Knights of the Old Republic. This game is available for the xbox, pc, and I think playstation 2. I have the xbox version. Let me tell ya it kicks serious arse! I haven't been a fan of role playing games in the past, but this one isn't the typical role player. And it is said to be greater than Final Fantasy! You choose up to three characters to go on adventures with. Your main goal is to find the ancient star maps of the jedi order. But you get side tracked by about 50 side tasks on each level. Your goal is to become a jedi, but every decision you make in the game will decide your destiny. You can fall to the dark side. Everything from battle decisions to conversations decide whether your light or dark. Many characters in this game are very entertaining. The planets are all incredibly designed, and the gameplay is outstanding. During your quest you can also race swoop bikes, play pazaak in the cantina, or even step into the hut cantina duel ring and see how good your skills are. Also one of the kewler things is while traveling in space, sometimes your ship is attacked by fighters, so you have to man the gun turrets. To put it into perspective this game will probably be the game of the year hands down. Every review I have seen confirms this. You can literally play for hours and not even notice the time difference. I highly recommend this game.

Next up later this year is going to be Jedi Knight: Jedi Accademy. Again this will be formatted for the consoles and pc. This game is along the lines of the dark forces/jedi knight series. Except this time your not Kyle Katarn. You take on the role of a student who is going to be an apprentice to Luke Skywalker and Kyle. The game will pick up where Jedi Outcast left off. From the early reports I have read the combat has been greatly improved for Accademy. Your character will be fully customizable allowing for you to even build your own lightsaber and customize it. Since it is a Jedi Knight game it will be a first person shooter ofcourse, differing from kotor in that fashion. But it looks like another winner from LA.

Now the only question I have left is when will another Star Fighter sim come out?
