Re: Opinion - Snoopy - 07-03-2007

Heh, this is starting to sound like the problem I have with my older system after I reformated it, reinstalled everything and ended up with no sound.  Worst with mine is the device manager keeps telling me there's no sound device installed.  Family's been making use of it WITHOUT sound(it's in bad need of a professional cleaning anyway..I've used canned air a couple times now on it and yet the temp STILL climbs).  Figure it's due a maintenace visit whenever the families willing to part with it for a few days...lol.  (Yeah, I KNOW Azis...it's junk only good for a scrap heap, but hey, if ya can't afford a NEW one, ya make do with the old........course my gaming computer is obsolete too, but mehh Tongue)

At this point I don't know what to say.

Learn about your device manager, uninstall the sound device and when windows restarts it should find the device and reinstall the drivers.

This is a common problem and that usually fixes it.

Snoopy, find the device drivers for your motherboard, they evidently have not been installed.
The manufacturer supplies these free for download on their website.

Hope this helps.

Re: Opinion - hobovu - 07-05-2007

well i still find nothing, if i buy a new sound card will that fix the problem?

Re: Opinion - Azis - 07-06-2007

If your on board sound is disabled then a seperate sound card likely will give you sound. If it is NOT disabled, but just not functioning, then another sound card will only complicate the issue.

Did you purchase your motherboard as a separate individual unit? It has a Manual with ALL you need to know about making the thing work!

I can do a remote with you on MSN messenger and look/show you some things in the device manager. So much easier than trying to exchange text on a message board.

asis121hotmail.com is my MSN and I am always online.

Re: Opinion - Azis - 07-18-2007

I sense much XP in you. XP leads to bluescreen, bluescreen leads to downtime, downtime leads to suffering. XP is the path to the darkside. Powerful UNIX is.

Speaking of pc's...I just upgraded most of mine, already had a nice hd.

ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 Windsor 2.8GHz Socket AM2 Dual Core Processor

Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit

BFG Tech BFGR7950256GTOCE GeForce 7950GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 OC HDCP Video Card

It was running a little warm for my taste, so I added these....

COOLMAX CR-450B ATX 450W "140mm Fan" Power Supply

AeroCool Streamliner-Silver 140mm Blue LED Case Fan

Had to fab a bigger hole in the side of my case, came out great.

I play City of Heroes in wide screen with full graphics and details set to 200%.
Runs without a burp.....wow, I love it.

And it's actually quieter than my old system.
