Latest News: All RBL Urged to Read - Acehigh - 10-19-2004
äçä Well guys the Imperial leadership of the zone finally got their way. The Rebel Base and XWA game rooms no longer exist. This report is being filed as of 10/19/04 at roughly 22:35 pm. For those of you not staring at a calendar that is tuesday. If any of the high and mighties that run the zone would have cared to stop in they would have seen that there was an event in progress. I think you all know where I'm going with this. >

Needless to say if you wish to fly in this final wow of the zone era you need to scramble. From the admins of bsc........"WoW will continue with match making being found on IRC, mIRC, or a directplay room." That isn't a direct quote but it's close enough. Need to note that I've been searching for the directplay room and haven't found it yet. I'll update a new post with the link to that page if and when I find it. Now with the above being stated, there's a couple more issues to cover. BSC has stated that they will continue to support xvt and xwa. They also stated they are expecting the clans to come up with a way to continue match making. The ways mentioned above are the leading candidates for a permanent solution. I need to point out here though that no decision has been made on a permanent basis. A decision has been made to try to save the integrity of the interupted WoW that is taking place.
Finally guys what do we want to do here? My personal opinion is that I will continue to fly xvt if a solution that agrees with my con can be found. For me that would mean the directplay room option would be the best. I dislike IRC and mIRC with a passion, and have even heard rumors that they are now charging to download these programs. Need confirmation on that though. This clan is based on the star wars universe. XVT and XWA were the bread and butter of what this whole clan and sight are based upon. Back in round one of trying to save xvt on the zone I know we had stated we would support other games. I still support that decision......but are we going to make changes to reflect this or leave things as they are? Personally XVT was the only game I played competitively on a regular basis. If the zone doesn't move XVT to the directplay area I don't know how often I'll be online from here on. Please don't read more into this than I am saying........I'm not retiring, going MIA, or moving to the reserves. I'll wish to stay on the active roster. Just don't know if I'll be gaming competitively or not. The reasons for this are simple. My computer is very old, I'm still on dial up, and I haven't found a newer game that can hold my interest long enough to get into online. I can play Crimson Skies, any Mech Warrior game in the Mech Warrior 4 franchise, and Galactic Battlegrounds. Those games my comp will support, anything newer I'm SOL. Needless to say my only regret in this whole deal is that I never got to fly xvt on a high speed connection.
At the end of the week I'll post the wow results and a final farewell to xvt and xwa on the zone in my news briefing.

hi ya if you go to this link guys there is a mirc so you can get to the plac wher the rest of the wow is going on click it should be striaght forward and fairly easy to understand

We have our own IRC server as well guys. There are many IRC "clients" out there that are free that you can use on our server or anyone elses, you are not limited to and dont have to use the mirc client. Xchat is a good one and runs on both unix and windows, trillian supports IRC, gaim supports IRC, and many others and are free. Not to mention we have our own web based client here http://www.rblsquad.com/irc/ as noted in the chatroom window on the top of this page.

She gets an oil dip now and then, but no showers as she's not waterproof
