I'd recommend that you stick with a cheap piece-o'-junk for your first car bro, nothing would make you hate yourself more than spending your ENTIRE paychecks (Even after you've bought your car) on your car.... Insurance is a pain in the @#$!. (Don't learn the hard way)

yay old wagon!!! i can street race with it
while the other guy gets in a car accident for speeding I can win the race in 5-10 hours since it started
slow and steady wins the race ;D

You'd be surprised by how fast some of those pieces of junk can travel. My first car was a minivan, and lets just say I got a few tickets for going much faster than neccissary (or so the police thought).... A minivan traveling at 125mph is an interesting sight.
